Stacey received her M.Sc. in cancer genetics from Queen’s University and her Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Toronto.

Stacey is involved in evaluating technologies and developing intellectual property protection strategies. She has worked as scientific advisor in the intellectual property group of a major Canadian law firm, where she gained experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications, focusing on life sciences and biotechnology patent protection.

Most recently, she was intellectual property manager at a privately owned Canadian biotechnology company and intellectual property advisor to a Toronto teaching hospital.
