Doug Heintzman has been in the IT industry for 24 years. He was the director of strategy for IBM‘s Collaboration, Social Business, and Smarter Workforce division and the director of Technical Strategy for all of IBM’s software group. He has deep experience in M&A and intellectual property management.
Heintzman has been heavily involved with academia over the past eight years as the sponsorship executive of the ACM International Computer Programming Conference. He has broad exposure to emerging technologies and standards and was chairman of the board of the SyncML initiative.
Heintzman has been a consultant to companies all over the world and is a frequent keynote speaker and industry conferences. His most recent research topics include retail, African workforce dynamics, the emerging API ecponomy and ecosystem, and the imminent industry turn caused by the intersection of mobile, big data/analytics, cloud, and social.
His current research is focused on alternative energy and the post carbon economy and smarter cities/municipalities.
